Kehillat Hod veHadar invites members and the general public to commemorate Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day and hear Ravit Israel tell the story of her mother, Miriam Schmidt, who was only 8 years old on the S.S. Exodus.
“My mother, born in 1940, lost her father in World War II, survived because she fled with her mother and sister, and after a long journey immigrated to Israel. A journey that ended in tragedy… A journey that gave birth to a country. In the meeting I will tell about her personal journey, which is interwoven with the historical story – the story of a girl who underwent a holocaust to a revival.”
